Punk-oriented speed metal from the Italian trio Overcharge, "Accelerate" cuts to the chase in 10 songs that rev up the engine and under 30 minutes, get the job done. Between bassist Fabietto’s hoarse, gruff word actions and drummer Panzer’s steady down beats, guitarist Josh has no trouble racing up and down his six string gung ho to melt paint off the walls. "As If There Were No Tomorrow" features a bluesy solo break in line with Fast Eddie Clarke, while "Leave Behind" is a punter anthem ready to rally the Motörhead faithful. Favorites? The stop/start maniacal "No Law" featuring double bass and zany guitar antics plus "Dirt" are two of many that get the job done.
Close your eyes and you’ll travel three decades back in time for this one. Raw, abrasive, possessing attitude and just what we want from heavy metal today. D.R.I. and Motörhead would be proud.
