As much as I love the engaging, classy vocals of Terry Brock, this seventh album from England’s the Strangeways Perfect World is more of a mellow melodic rock affair. A ballad like “Time” as well as the mid-tempo electrified “Liberty” have more of a mid 80’s Journey meets early Poco / The Eagles style. A reunion 20 years in the making since Terry’s departure for solo and Giant waters, and yet I struggle to find much to really get excited about with this release.
Diamond Blue, Terry Brock’s most recent solo album, puts Perfect World in the dust.
