BLACK HAWK – Straight To Hell

Northern Germany traditional metal act who release their fourth album "Straight To Hell" featuring 11 originals and a Saxon cover “Crusader”. Anthem-like power in “Isolation” and “Stranger (In This Land)” reminds me of a mix of classic 80’s British metal along with their Teutonic roots musically- but the vocals of Udo Bethke severely impact my consistent exposure to the record. Much more rough in the high range than melodic, I can’t help but wonder if a Halford or Dickinson-like singer would improve the likelihood of bigger and better happenings for the Black Hawk camp.
