REPUKED – Up From The Sewers

After a dull and repetetive intro/first song, Repuked get´s going like we got to know them on their debut "Pervertopia" (2011). Enter Filthdome is a nasty piece of death metal with all the ingredients to make it just (delightfully) disgusting. The tempo got the Autopsy vibe with both melody and intensity varying from listenable to chaos. Personally I think "Up From The Sewers" is just that, a step up for Repuked who btw hails from Sweden. Where "Pervertopia" lacked the truely nasty death metal aspect their second full-length keeps the stink alive almost thrue the whole album.
There are some aspects that just gets to repetetive and some of the material/riffs is not that strong/innovative to keep the concentration in place when the clocks reaches the 40 min mark. The filth factor is all there and escpecially the vocal is delivered with menacing wickedness, but all over "Up From The Sewers" get´s a little boring after a while.
Like mentioned above, this is clearly a step forward for Repuked and I like more of what I am being served this time around but all in all this is not an album that will get to much playing time in the future.
