SACRAMENTUM – Far Away From The Sun – re-issue

Sacramentum´s debut "Far Away From The Sun" did not get released until 1996 but the swedes started playing their melodic black/death metal six years earlier. The trio managed to release three albums before folding in 2000 and Century Media is now re-releasing their fabolous debut.
Like their peers (but much more famous) Dissection, Sacramentum combined melody with aggresiveness and mixed two pretty fresh musical styles. The tempo is formidable and the main focus is on the riffing and vocal. It´s actually pretty easy to get used to Sacramentum form of extreme metal and it still amazes me that they not did get more attention back in the days. For example, the black metal drumming, melodic riff and necro vocal on opener Fog´s Kiss is just amazing and is right up there with everything else at that time.
"Far Away From The Sun" is also filled to the rim with atmosphere and the whole album must be listened to in one sitting. This album is recommended to the max and now is your chance to check out this classic if you missed it the first time.
