WAYWARD SONS – Even Up the Score

UK hard rockers Wayward Sons may well have released their best album yet in the shape of this hugely energetic output of theirs entitled "Even Up the Score". No-frills rock ‘n’ roll with plenty of punch, dynamics, and substance to it is the order of the day here, and as evidenced by the record’s four strongest and most memorable tunes, namely "Faith in Fools", "Land of the Blind", "Downfall", and the title track, there is something so incredibly vigorous and vital-sounding about this crunchy and hard-hitting offering that gets me every time.
Take the aforementioned Downfall and listen to the verse riff – that sounds like something Thin Lizzy could have conjured up around the time of the "Bad Reputation" LP. There are a lot of cool influences present on the disc, but what really blows me away is the level of determination and conviction that emanates from the speakers when one plays this beauty loud and "Even Up the Score" is both solid and compelling from start to finish.
There is something about the atmosphere that sucks you in and once the album reaches its climactic end, you will find yourself begging for more and pressing the repeat button. Quality hard rock!
