WÖMIT ANGEL – Sadopunk Finland

High-octane black/thrash metal with plenty of punk rock elements thrown in for good measure is what these maniacal Finnish fucks dabble in, and if you desire catchy, unpretentious, and hugely energetic metal with swagger and attitude to it then you ought to swing by the Godz ov War Bandcamp profile one of these days in order to check this explosive offering out.

In some ways, it reminds me ever so slightly of Bestial Mockery and even the first couple of Aura Noir records, but the filthier aspects of “Sadopunk” recalls Witchmaster. The raw, wild, and intuitive feel of the music is perversely charming, and there are several bone-crushing tunes present here to please all you thrash-loving lunatics out there. The disc is hardly what one would deem sensational or musically phenomenal, but it sure is entertaining and the tunes are generally memorable and sufficiently gut-punching to warrant repeated listens.

“Sadopunk Finland” is a solid effort for sure and the track titled “Crushing Suffering” is a superb example of how to craft a ravaging yet dynamic composition that oozes madness and hell-bent determination – clearly an album highlight. And do not get me started on how infectious the killer riffs in “Heretic” are or how satanically grand “The Grey Mother” comes across!
