VECTOR SEVEN – Electric Blood

Vector Seven’s darksynth/synthwave opus entitled "Electric Blood" is a fabulous homage to cinematic horror films and soundtracks from the late 70s, 80s, and early 90s, and these eleven hooky songs rarely fail to deliver bold results.
While parts of "Electric Blood" are warm and pulsating, others possess an almost steely modernist edge, which makes for a hard-hitting and effective piece of work that is crisp, pristine-sounding, and infinitely dark. Amazing layers and textures abound and the album is memorable more or less all the way through. As with some of John Carpenter’s musical works, things move seamlessly from haunting and eerie to bright and airy only to once more plunge into a swirling, trance-inducing mass of unsettling atmospheres and addictive melodies that are pretty damn unnerving at times. Incredibly well-constructed and superbly arranged with interesting shifts occurring at regular intervals, this disc is a great slice of thrilling and moody synthwave music from Germany that is both explosive and wildly appealing.
This superb piece of work will take you to a malevolent, parallel dimension to ours and it is intense and captivating stuff – and highly recommended too, Also, at 36 minutes long it neither outstays its welcome nor loses any of its spark throughout. Cheers to Darkhan Music for making this one available on CD and vinyl for the first time ever – the digipak CD certainly looks killer.
