Cape Town based folk punk collective The Shabs release their new album “Can You Hear us at the Back”

Can You Hear Us at the Back, the new album from South African folk punk band The Shabs releases today. The album blends sincere, melodic sing-along folk with the raw energy and DIY ethos of punk rock. Drawing influences from artists such as Frank Turner, Erik Petersen and Against Me!

Live, the band never ceases to get the crowd to throw their fists in the air and sing along to their anthemic tunes which have been described as honest, raw and easy to relate to. They’ve managed to capture this energy perfectly on the recording.

"We’re bursting with excitement for the world to hear our new album, ‘Can You Hear us at the Back’. The response to first single and video was overwhelmingly positive, and we can’t wait to show old and new fans what we’ve been working on. We’ve put everything we are capable of into this offering and we couldn’t be any happier with the result. Working with Simon Ratcliffe and his team at Sound and Motion was a gamechanger for the band and joining forces with Just Music on this release means we get to move forward at an even faster trajectory than we already have been. The fact that we get to tour it through Europe, SA and UK is also a dream come true for us. 2019 is looking good!" Jon Shaban, vocals and guitar.
