TRIOXIN – Repugnance Factory

This is a fascinating little surprise I received from Blood Red Throne guitarist Daniel "Død" Olaison, a side project of his. The man is an incredibly prolific artist, lending his knowledge, skills, abilities and time to not only death metal Blood Red Throne but thrash/groove Zerozonic and black metal Cobolt 60. Authentically I can’t readily compare Trioxin to anyone, maybe a cross between old Prong, Sepultura, Nailbomb, Fear Factory, Ministry, Pantera, Sadist and Candiria but only certain angles.
Out of the three tracks on this ep none is a let down. "Target Zero" is utterly fantastic and warrants comparisons to Prong, Chaos A.D. Sepultura, Pantera and Ministry with Fear Factory "Soul of A New Machine" for good measure, the bass on "Exhortation" reminds me of Steve Di Giorgio and Sadist "Crust" album while "Spiteful Remain" has that Panteric "Vulgar Display of Power" vibe combined with Candiria "Process of Self-Development" with some excellent bass-riff interplay. Three tracks? Dammit, I want more!
This is a very original sounding material with a great sound and fresh riffs. The Encyclopedia Metallum may have Trioxin listed as defunct (thus the link to Cobolt 60, instead) but by god, resurrection is in order, Død!
