THE GLORIA STORY – Greetings from Electric Wastelands

THE GLORIA STORY – Greetings from Electric Wastelands

Another old school album, but embodying more of the party/ good time vibe, is "Greetings from Electric Wastelands" from Swedish quintet The Gloria Story. High pitch vocals, simple background harmonies, vibrant and catchy guitar hooks, and a tough as nails rhythm section gives "Beast of a Northern Light", the trippy "Cardinal Sin", and hard rocking meets bluesy "Down to the Liquor Store" a lot of appeal to people that love Kiss, Cheap Trick, and The Rolling Stones. Acoustic guitar and piano elements intertwine around some slow moving twin guitar work on another highlight, the Thin Lizzy-oriented "Hold Me Tonight".

12 songs in 40 minutes, "Greetings from Electric Wastelands" isn’t fancy – but that’s not the intent. The Gloria Story live for the good times, humorous and full of happiness – as such enjoy the ride.
