Powermetal-bandet fra Florida kommer tilbake til Oslo i september 2015.
Touring around the globe, spectacular shows at the most prestigious Rock Festivals worldwide and high chart topping releases, it all reads like an amazing success story: Kamelot have long been among the most charismatic and innovative acts in the history of the rock and metal genre. Their unique hybrid of melodic metal, progressive influences and doom/gothic metal references has ensured that albums such as The Fourth Legacy (1999), Karma (2001) and The Black Halo (2005) turned into absolute masterpieces. Their 2012 release Silverthorn not only established Kamelot’s new vocalist Tommy Karevik with the band’s fan base, but also took the group on the longest and, thanks to lots of sold-out shows, most successful tour of their career to date: along with Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, the UK, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium, the US, Canada, Argentina, Chile and Brazil, they also played countries such as Australia, South Korea, Taiwan and Puerto Rico for the first time. In addition, after an absence of seven years, the Silverthorn tour took Kamelot back to Japan, where the band is bigger than ever today.
Despite his joy at the impressive achievements of the past years, band mastermind Thomas Youngblood still hasn’t missed the right moment to set the course for the future. Kamelot are currently working in Wolfsburg, Stockholm, Tampa and Aidlingen on their as yet untitled new album which is scheduled for release in early 2015 and will document once more how much of a fresh breeze new addition Tommy Karevik has brought to the band, not only as a singer but also as a contributor of ideas and co-composer. At the moment, Kamelot are working with their favourite producer Sascha Paeth (Edguy, Avantasia) on about a dozen new tracks which feature all the important trademarks their fans have come to know and love but are also set to include a number of exciting surprises.
And although not a note from the new release has escaped yet, fans can be sure: the album will once again prove that Kamelot are not only here to stay but will bring the group to yet another level worldwide. A massive world tour kicks off in March in the UK to include Dublin, Wales and England, followed by a return to North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and beyond. No doubt about it: 2015 will turn into yet another Kamelot year!
