MORBID SLAUGHTER – Wicca’ 7′

Great to hear a South American band that aren’t following the herd and muddying the waters with yet more average bestial black/death. Instead, Morbid Slaughter specialise in horror-tinged thrash that is a little black around the edges. Soundwise, we are looking like something similar to early Possessed or Bathory. What really stands out about this act are the vocals of singer ‘Envenom’. He hisses like a ghoul, in one stroke adding to the horror vibe and giving MS an original sound. The songs are impressive enough that I’ll check these guys out again. They have a lot of work to do to become a fixture in the black thrash firmament, but the potential is there.
