PALE DIVINE – Cemetary Earth

PALE DIVINE – Cemetary Earth

Shadow Kingdom’s reissue of ‘Cemetary Earth’ includes the full track-listing from the original 2007 release and a full second disc of demo and live tracks for a total of approximately two hours music .
For those unfamiliar with this Pennsylvanian three-piece, Pale Divine specialise in doom that has shades of epic/classic/stoner metal. The guitars are warm and fuzzy, and because the tracks are generally up-tempo (in doom terms), they help create a driving groove that sweeps the listener along. Greg Diener’s clean vocals are among the best in the field too.

For those fans of the genre who haven’t checked out Pale Divine yet, this reissue is the perfect place to start. I’m not sure how indispensible the bonus tracks are, but in terms of value for money, if two hours music doesn’t do it for you nothing will. Once again, Shadow Kingdom strikes gold.
