Here we go again! With some of you still wiping the Donington mud off your wellies from Download earlier this year, we’re back, announcing not one, but TWO headliners for next year’s festival.
We’re thrilled to reveal that British rock icons Iron Maiden are confirmed to headline, as are German metal band Rammstein. Someone scream “HELL FREAKIN’ YUSSSS!!” right about now!
Iron Maiden will be bringing their triumphant “Maiden England” tour to Donington Park on the 25th Anniversary of their first headline performance at the legendary home of rock in 1988 – when an astounding 107,000 fans turned out to see their spectacular “Seventh Son” show – still the highest ever attendance there.
“We’re absolutely over the moon to be headlining Donington again,” says frontman Bruce Dickinson. “We will be bringing a huge new lightshow, stage set, various incarnations of Eddie, plenty of pyro and all kinds of other exciting stuff for the fans.”
Rammstein are infamous all over the world for their spectacular live show, and their set at Download next year will be the first time the band have ever played Donington – so expect them to be pulling out all the stops to make sure it’s a truly unforgettable performance.
Tickets for Download 2013 go on sale at 9am on Friday September 28th. Download subscribers can get presale tickets 24 hours earlier – so if you’re not already a member, sign up now for free.

There are just 266 days until the Donington gates open for another year of mighty mayhem – now’s the time to start getting VERY excited.
