41 years in the books, “Into The Wild” is the twenty third studio record from the UK’s Uriah Heep. Mick Box and the boys deserve accolades for longevity and vitality. They still love deep, lush organ sounds, displaying 11 songs of old school hard rock, blues based with loads of hooks and groove. “Money Talk” has a slightly progressive rock edge while “Southern Star” comes from a Native American meets Irish melodic feel.
Bernie Shaw sails through this material vocally as a classy, expressive veteran should. 2008’s “Wake The Sleeper” appears to be a touch stronger front to back, but that doesn’t mean “Into The Wild” isn’t relevant or exciting to those who know and love Uriah Heep.
