An excellent look back at the long running history of Swedish AOR/melodic rock with this act Pride. Originally active during 1987-1991, this album sold out quickly and finally gains a 2011 reissue with Yesterrock. If you love 220 Volt in their latter years and any era of Treat, songs like “You’re The Only One”, “Playing With Fire” and “Let It In” will fill up your ear tank. Keyboards and guitars sit side by side, chorus harmony hooks abound and the two newly recorded bonus tracks “Heartless Woman” and “Valkyria” continue the classic AOR sound (although the demo-ish production values didn’t help the impact).
Gives the new breed a look back, helps us realize why classic harmonies and hooks reign supreme for Scandinavian melodic hard rock.
