Arizona’s Flotsam and Jetsam continue to be highly underrated, straddling the line of power and thrash metal with persistent hooks and the unmistakable vocal heroics from Eric A.K. "The Cold" represents their most dynamic and moody recording since the Cuatro era. The stop/ start chug thud throughout “Black Cloud” and quiet to explosive transitions within “Falling Short” prove there aren’t many acts 25 years plus in the metal business unleashing records that rival their classics.
If you’ve been on the fence with their output from "High" and beyond, "The Cold" could reconvert your allegiance. Just don’t expect another "No Place For Disgrace" – as this has modern relevance.
