EUFOBIA – Eufobia

This self-titled effort by the Bulgarian outfit named Eufobia consists of ten tracks that all incorporate different elements from (melodic) death metal, hardcore, and metalcore. Truth be told, none of the songs appeal to me whatsoever. It is not that the quartet cannot handle their instruments or anything like that, but their tunes are utterly devoid of anything that even remotely resembles an atmosphere or a mood. Everything sounds sterile and inorganic, and the chaotic vocals on top of those chugga-chugga riffs make me feel fucking miserable. Yes, "Eufobia" is that bad! There are hardly any redeeming qualities to be found on this disc at all, and even though it is only half an hour long, listening to it feels like an eternity. The arrangements are messy and chaotic, the riffs and melodies are neither memorable nor well-written, and the whole sound of the album is flat and lifeless.
Like I said, none of the songs on this album appeal to me, and none of them move me at all. Not in the slightest. I am going to keep this short and simply state that "Eufobia" is neither interesting nor entertaining to listen to. Thousands of metal bands out there do a way better job at combining different genres and musical traits than these guys do. The tracks that constitute this album carry no feelings or emotions, and there is nothing worse than that. Unless you loathe yourself deeply, steer clear of this one. I mean that!
