IRON KNIGHTS – Iron Knights

A fixture of the UK metal scene for some time, Iron Knights return for their second album, a self-titled effort. Their sound has a lot in common with their native countrymen such as Judas Priest along with a healthy dose of power groove a la Pantera (especially in terms of the vocals from guitarist Jamie Gibson. As much as I would love to recommend material like "A Chapter’s Lesion" and the AC/DC oriented "Bloodstorm", the weak, strained vocal approach and by the book drumming leaves Iron Knights songwriting very flat.
You need something distinct in terms of substance to stay alive in the heavy metal community – right now these 11 songs would struggle to get the band beyond the club scene in any headlining capacity.
