Gothenburg death quartet Miasmal is back with their second full-length release aptly named "Cursed Redeemer". The allways hard second album continues in the same vein as their self titled debut from 2011. This is fast, well played death metal with easy to follow arrangements and a vocalist who delivers on all accounts and makes the album stand out from the flooding massess of swedish retro/old school DM bands out there. His voice flows really well on the massive sound (the guitars are sharp and take a lot of the overall sound) and is quite easy to dechiper. The music is like mentioned groovy but fast death metal with hints of the old days, but also with a look forward to the more current trends in death metal.
"Cursed Redeemer" is a good listen and I´ve enjoyed it qute a lot but it may get a little to streamlined and polished for my taste in the long run.
If you like swedish death metal Miasmal is a name worth checking out and with their resepy for keeping it true you will for sure enjoy what "Cursed Redeemer" has to offer.
