KORN – III Remember Who You Are

Being one of the torch-bearers for nu-metal carries with it a lot of expectations and responsibility towards your fans. One of the bands that embraces this responsibility and lives up to every expectation is American nu-metal behemoth Korn. “III: Remember Who You Are” is their 9th studio effort and it’s the follow-up to the 2007 album “Untitled”.
The album kicks off with the ever increasing popularity of a silent, low key intro before returning to regular Korn form with “Oildale (Leave Me Alone). “Fear Is A Place To Live” can easily be added into any Korn best off list as it envelopes everything Korn has created in the past. The mad, tad crazy high pitched vocals on the verse with the easy sing a long parts creating the chorus. Bass, drums and guitars all thumbing away rapidly.
As the album progress it becomes apparent that the 9th studio album does not really stand alone from previous Korn albums. It’s heavy with lyrics of self hurting, hatred and social angst, but the album does not offer anything new to the Korn legacy. Korn fans will embrace this album just like they did with previous albums but people looking for some artistic originality from the American nu-metal giants will have to keep waiting. Album highlights: "Fear Is A Place To Live", "Move On", "Let The Guilt Go" and "Never Around".
