GLACIAL MASS – The Passion

The musically compelling force of darkness known as Glacial Mass, which consists of members Themis and Manos, is a frighteningly heavy and claustrophobic proposition that promises a deep, introspective journey through the worst alleyways and oddest corners of the mind – a proper examination of one’s true self and an analysis of the psyche that is destined to bring about some harrowing results. Yes, The Passion and its seven tracks are nothing short of that, and they are more than capable of provoking a deep-seated sense of sublime horror that will leave you wanting for more.   

Loud, oppressive waves of sound composed of crushing doom metal riffs, ominous and industrial-tinged dark ambient, filthy and harsh vocals, and a feeling of utter despair and gloom await those of you who are brave enough to throw yourself into this swirling vortex of all of that is bleak. One of its many qualities is that it is trance-inducing and perfectly hypnotic without coming across as one-dimensional or monotonous, and there is red thread through every awe-inspiring and terrifying fiber of this sonically nightmarish opus. Its brilliance is not in question, but what is in question is whether you are in the right mindset for listening to The Passion and digesting it properly?
