Hailing from the glorious city of London and specializing in potent and emotionally charged rock that leans slightly towards Foo Fighters and Feeder, The Survival Code is simply a great band and an utterly enjoyable listening experience with longevity to it. Packed to the rafters with good riffs, infectious melodies, charming hooks, and a genuine sense of passion, the twelve songs that make up Whispers of Woe are a real treat and contain enough colorful textures and hidden depths to warrant repeated streams and keep the listener coming back for more. Things really take off by the time the fifth track named ‘Sum of All Our Parts’ rolls around the corner, and everything well and truly gels from that point on with ‘Built to Break’, ‘Haunted by Myself’, and ‘Waiting in the Wings’ being particularly noteworthy and irresistible while also being imbued with meaning and purpose from a lyrical point of view. An exceptionally well-composed album with bucket loads of appeal to it and definitely a skilled group of creative individuals whose work we all ought to pay some serious attention to.
