CORRODER – Both Feet in the Grave

CORRODER – Both Feet in the Grave

I friggin’ love these maniacal thrash metal bastards from Trondheim, and this vicious new slice of harsh and punishing music of theirs is even better and more focused than anything that came before, which is saying something. As much as I dig the Tombs of Terror EP (and I still listen to that one once a week), the simple fact is that Both Feet in the Grave and its five compositions are face-ripping, powerful affairs that mark the outfit’s best and most memorable work to date.

That darkly appealing aura of something that is unhinged and intensely fierce but never without purpose and direction requires a certain set of skills on the part of the musicians in order to make it truly convincing and effective, and Corroder’s latest material possesses that unique quality and simply ticks all the boxes for me. Raw thrash metal with hints and traces of 80s black metal and grimy old-school death metal is basically what this release is all about, and each track on the tape delivers a solid blow to the skull and channels fury and malevolence in a most efficient manner In short, the spirit of old courses through the veins of this gnarly and noisy output from the hellish metal pits, and all you need to do is to either purchase the digital copy of this ugly fucker via Bandcamp or get your filthy paws on the cassette tape. What are you waiting for?
