A new album by Crazy Lixx usually means that we are in for a cracking good time and "Street Lethal" is no exception to that rule. With an overwhelming sense of energy and drive, these lovable Swedes deliver some hugely entertaining anthems that highlight some of the best aspects of hard rock and glam metal. There is nothing even remotely tired, lazy, or uninspiring about this eleven-track effort and in a world that is quickly going down the drain with just about everything collapsing and falling to pieces around us, it is nice to know that these dudes consistently kick ass and deliver the goods.
Although the third song on the disc, "Anthem for America", is clearly a highlight, the best parts of the record are saved for last with "Caught Between the Rock N’ Roll", "One Fire – One Goal", and the epic closing track "Thief in the Night". The latter is undoubtedly the most colorful and varied tune of them all and serves as a great ending to the blistering and fun glam metal assault that is "Street Lethal". If the early LPs by Motley Crüe, Guns N’ Roses, and L.A. Guns appeal to you, there is simply no way around the latest output by Crazy Lixx and remember that it peaks towards the end where things are well and truly gelling. Explosive stuff!
