EREVAN – Darkness Epsilon

I couldn’t really find a whole lot of information relating to the French outfit named Erevan, but the full-length album entitled "Darkness Epsilon" was released just a couple of months ago I think. The album is comprised of nine songs that are all rooted in classic hard rock and heavy metal mixed with somewhat modern influences. Actually, that alternative hard rock band named Slave to the System comes to mind in places, but maybe that is just me. Heck, there are even a few thrash metal bits and pieces scattered throughout. Having said that, the album is quite repetitive and uninteresting to listen to. None of the songs stands out much and the whole thing just sounds too damn generic and clichéd for my taste. The production lacks punch and the vocals are neither convincing nor memorable. The same thing goes for the riffs and melodies. You can check the album out on Bandcamp, but do not expect to be blown away by "Darkness Epsilon". I certainly wasn’t!
