Embassy of Silence is a Finnish progressive/gothic metal band on their third full-length, the interestingly titled "Verisimilitude". Possessing an uplifting guitar charge and equally intoxicating melodies from vocalist Ines Lukkanen, the material gives off positive vibes amid all of the off-time juggling and overall flow song to song. The folk-tinged "Thimble", keyboard-driven "Flamer" plus tribute to Type O Negative’s deceased leader Pete Steele on the epic "Dear Mr. Steele" illustrates their sound goes from Dream Theater and The Gathering progressive rock/metal strains to more straightforward, commercial/gothic leanings.
Considering this is my first exposure to the band, Embassy of Silence transport the mind and body on a multi-sensory escapade, intriguing and delightful each and every successive listen.
