‘A Filthy Orgy of Horror and Death’ is the debut album from Peruvian maniacs Morbid Slaughter. This is dirty, thrashing speed metal with a serious dose of old school blackened vibes mixed in. Granted, not much really that is too original or groundbreaking about this one and not much to satisfy those with more progressive and technical leanings, but this record is all about the feel – pounding, repetitive riffs that conjure up images of necromantic caverns piled with festering undead. Spikes, metal, leather, death, skulls, more death, beer. Yes beer. And headbanging. Let’s bring back headbanging.
Ultimately then, this isn’t the deepest album, but it is fun and the riffs are cool as fuck. These guys should save up for some flights and get over to Europe and do a few dates with Nifelheim.
