DEEP PURPLE – …To the Rising Sun (In Tokyo)
Classic hard rock never dies – especially when artists like Deep Purple keep writing, recording, and touring after 47 plus years. "…To the Rising Sun (In Tokyo)" is a double live album taken from a recent tour in Japan, featuring 18 songs and over 107 minutes of music. Newer songs like "Apres Vous" and "Vincent Price" sit side by side with requisite offerings like "Perfect Strangers", "Space Truckin" and of course "Smoke on the Water". Guitarist Steve Morse and keyboardist Don Airey fit like a glove, given their long musical histories prior to joining drummer Ian Paice, bassist Roger Glover, and singer Ian Gillan.
Spirited musical interplay, proper execution, tour de force brilliance on all fronts – Deep Purple can keep going for another decade I think if they have the passion and desire to.
