Noted players in the metal scene like Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, Armored Saint/ Fates Warning bassist Joey Vera, and drummer Joey Tempesta along with Scott’s wife Pearl Aday on vocals join vocalist/ guitarist Jim Wilson for this new rock group Motor Sister. This is very 70’s oriented, three-four chord hard rock that recalls classic UFO, Ted Nugent, and Cheap Trick – no frills, down and dirty, and catchy as all get up. "A Hole" for instance has a lot of that "Natural Thing" meets "Rock Bottom" energy, the riff and vocals building steam throughout, while "Get That Girl" is infectious power pop oriented material that allows Vera and Tempesta to lay into the groove while Jim Wilson playfully snakes up and down his soulful register.
"Ride" has 12 songs in that throwback, plug in and play atmosphere. Sure, they are not reinventing the wheel here, and this is probably the most commercial effort many of these musicians have ever done, but the quality songwriting and performances make this ideal for highway cruising or blasting at the top of your stereo during summer barbeques.
