SOUTH OF YOU – Moments

Featuring former members of Centinex and Katatonia (guitarist Johan Ahberg and bassist turned guitarist Mattias Norrman respectively), South Of You perform in more of an indie rock manner on their debut album "Moments". The quintet deliver 11 enchanting tracks (plus a subtle "The Red Carpet intro) that feature peppy, echo oriented main hooks, uplifting melodies, and steady tempos/ grooves that go over like gangbusters in the alternative rock /pop/ indie movement.
The immediacy of "Together", the wah wah action against a thick bass groove for "Burdens Gone", and the U2 meets The Killers vibe of highlight "Don’t Go" are three standouts for South Of You to the good. It’s not metal at all, but carries a lot of that Katatonia swirl if taken through more of an alternative /pop hook direction. Great for channeling your feelings in a different direction due to its stirring harmonies and addictive chord progressions.
