INQUISITION – Obscure Verses for the Multiverse

Inquisition was a unknown entity in my book when I received their "Obscure Verses for the Multiverse". This Colombian two piece outfit´s sixth full-length release is a masterpiece in black metal with influences from both death and thrash metal.

The beauty of this album can be summerized in one word, diversity.

"OVftM" does not settle for just the lillle finger but bites of the whole arm and I just can stop enjoying it. The diversity in the black metal served here is for the learning books for the extreme metal course. The duo keeps the intensity and pace leveled with high tempo riffing but making it not sound like a rumble. The arrangements twists and turns all the time so you´ll never know what to excpect around the corner of the next riff. The blast beats are ofcourse present but just to supply the guitars with a steady backbone, not steal the limelight. The vocal is very Immortal´ish and who dares complain about that?

Inquisition is a fresh breath in the BM genre that needs to be freshened up once in a while and with "Obscure Verses for the Multiverse" they make sure that they are noticed. One of my top 10 albums for 2013.12.04
