EXTREMEFEST 2013

I fjor dukket det opp noe som het Extremefest i Europa. Dette var en metalfestival som ble arrangert i både Tyskland, Østerrike og Sveits. De to sistnevnte ble muligens bare en engangsfestival, for i år er det kun den i Tyskland som blir arrangert.

Extremefest i Tyskland blir arrangert i den lille byen Hünxe, som ligger helt vest i Tyskland, nesten på grenen til Nederland. Enkleste måte å komme dit på er fly til Dusseldorf og tog eller bil opp til Hünxe. En biltur tar ca 45 minutter.

Byens metalfestival før Extremefest ble en realitet var Death Feast Open Air, en festival vi har skrevet om tidligere her i Eternal Terror.

Extremefest er en tre-dagers festival. Den har to scener og det er totalt 57 band som skal i ilden i løpet av disse tre dagene.

Festivalplakatens toppnavn er BEHEMOTH, KATAKLYSM og LEGION OF THE DAMNED. Godbiter som THYRFING, GRAVE, TANKARD, ENSLAVED, VADER, HAIL OF BULLETS, EXHUMED, NECROPHOBIC, VOMITORY, MILKING THE GOATMACHINE, DARK FORTRESS, SEPTICFLESH, ARCHGOAT og BROKEN HOPE følger rett under, så dette blir nok en skikkelig godbit av en metalfestival for de som liker sin metal en smule røffere.

Music festivals aren’t just about the music anymore. There is a lot of other stuff going on like merch-stands, tattoo-stands and stuff. What can Extremefest offer their audience besides the metal?

Extremefest will have several metal related Stalls where you can buy and check out stuff,our aftershow parties are probaly one of the heaviest in europe 😉

Does Extremefest have a main festival hotel in Hünxe where the metalfans can meet with the bands for breakfast and drinks?

No we dont have something like this but most of the acts you will meet on the festivalground and signing sessions

I know this is the second edition of Extremefest, but I’ll ask anyway: Have you seen a steady increase in the number of foreigners in their audience or have the economic problems in several countries in recent years given you less foreigners?

No not yet

What is the capacity of the venue?

Are you sold out or can the fans who want to attend the Extremefest 2013 still get tickets?

Extremefest is all about extreme metal and most of its brutal subcultures. But yet, the variety is there. What can you say about the bands playing in Extremefest 2013?

We tried our best to have something for everyone in 2013.there iwll be amazing bands like KATAKLYSM,BEHEMOTH and very rare specials like BROKEN HOPE.

Are there any bands you want to see in the Extremefest lineup that you have not managed to book yet?

This year is as I mentioned earlier, only the econd edition of Extremefest, but what has been the absolute highlight for you so far?

Last years performance of SUICIDE SILENCE

And what have been the biggest challenges?

The biggest challange for us is to get a line up together which fits nearly everyone who will attend in some way.i guess we made a good on this 🙂
