KILLSWITCH ENGAGE:

Med vokalist Jesse Leach tilbake i bandet, legger de Amerikanske metalcore-mesterne ut på turné. De fulgte opp kritikerroste ”The End Of Heartache” med en vel så helstøpt plate: ”As Daylight Dies” fra 2006, og i 2009 ga de ut det selvtitulerte albumet ”Killswitch Engage”. De er kjent for å meisle ut sterke, aggressive låter med komplekse rytmer og store, melodiske refreng.

Killswitch Engage (også kjent som KsE eller Killswitch) er et band fra Westfield, Massachusetts som spiller metalcore. Bandet ble formet etter oppløsningen av Overcast og Aftershock, og består nå av Adam Dutkiewicz og Joel Stroetzel fra Aftershock, og Mike D’Antonio fra Overcast, samt Howard Jones og Justin Foley. De har skrevet kontrakt med Roadrunner Records og har så langt utgitt fire studioalbumer og en DVD.

Killswitch Engage ble anerkjent i 2004, da de gav ut sitt tredje album, The End of Heartache, som endte opp på 21. plass på Billboard 200 og solgte over 500,000 kopier i USA. Tittelsporet, «The End of Heartache» ble nominert til en Grammy i 2005, og DVDen (Set This) World Ablaze ble utgitt i 2005. Killswitch Engage deltok på Reading and Leeds Festivals, Ozzfest, Download Festival, Warped Tour og Rock on the Range og fortsatte å turnere til 2008.

Bandet regnes som et av de viktigste medlemmene av New Wave of American Heavy Metal.

BEATEN TO DEATH:

Beaten To Death was formed by Martin Rygge, Tommy Hjelm (both normally heard handling guitar-duties in Oslo-based metal quartet Insense) and drummer Christian “Bartender” Svendsen (also the relentless drumming machine in Tsjuder, The Cumshots, Grimfist and Gothminister), with Mika Martinussen and vocalist Anders Bakke (the latter well-known in the metal community after years of fronting the mighty She Said Destroy) completing the line-up.

On September 26th 2011 the band released their first album on Mas-Kina Recordings, consisting of 9 songs, 1 second of silence, and 18 min 36 sec of gritty but strangely catchy grindcore – all recorded 100 % live at the bands rehearsal room during one weekend (except the vocals which were recorded a few days later)

Machine gun drums, ferocious guitars, snarling bass and intense vocals is the foundation of the B2D-sound. Add hauntingly beautiful harmonies and a brutal groove, and what you have is an infectious collection of deadly grind you won’t be able to sit still to, no-matter what your taste in music happens to be!
