THUNDERBLAST – Invaders From Another World

Columbian power metal with occasional bursts of thrash – this would be my first chance to hear the original side of Thunderblast as they appeared on a double Running Wild tribute album with “Timeriders” a couple of years back. This 11 song album (plus two minute intro) has a lot in common with Iron Maiden and Overkill in the pronounced bass tone but otherwise runs along traditional German lines a la Grave Digger or Running Wild. Loved the drum free flow opening to “The Human Torch”, and yet the sub-standard demo-like production kept my enjoyment level down immensely, as well as the throaty Morgana Lefay-like vocals.
Hibria blow Thunderblast away to another galaxy – “Invaders From Another World” just possesses average riffs, average songwriting and poor recording values.
