Vreid unleashes their full on black’n roll attack on DVD for the first time, filmed live at Rockefeller in
Oslo April 10th 2009 (at the Inferno Festival). The set list contains 8 songs, taken from the bands first 4 albums, (album 5,"V" was released earlier this year) making the DVD a nice introduction for new fans, and at the same time an essential part of the collection for us older followers. I have had the pleasure of attending a handful of Vreid’s live shows, and although a DVD never quite captures the energy and atmosphere of the real deal, this DVD has its moments, and it’s a well produced show that should make every fan happy. The sound and picture is of descent quality, and the band’s performance are as always very good.
Vreid plays a kind of music that is best enjoyed with a cold beer or two in your hand, and if there’s one thing this DVD does, it is that it makes me thirsty. There are also some extra material on the DVD, including interview with Hvàll and Sture, unreleased off & on stage material from 1994-2009 and a video tour blog from North America tour 2009, one of the few I have seen that makes sense, and not only the usual "see how drunk we are on tour" nonsense.
To repeat myself and make sure you didn’t miss the point, this is an essential buy for all new & old fans of Vreid.
