EMERALD – Re-Forged

After a serene opening not dissimilar to early Metallica offerings, “The Wanderer” bursts forth from Swiss traditional /epic metal act Emerald. This fifth album has much in common with acts like Iron Maiden, Jag Panzer and Manowar – driving riffs, soaring vocals and the love of metal written all over these 12 tracks. “Pipes Are Calling” contains bagpipes throughout to capture the Irish cultural theme, along with a choir of background vocals giving this an old age feel.

I feel like I’m listening to a NWOBHM band with today’s production and stellar arranging skills – "Re-Forged" should get the horns up and rekindle your passion for conventional traditional metal.
