Introduce your band, and describe your latest release:
We are EXILIA, a distinctive female alternative metal band hailing from the dynamic heart of Milan, Italy. Our music is an amalgamation of diverse influences, infused with profound lyrics, resulting in a truly unique sonic experience.

Our recent album, “Heroes and Dust,” marks an exciting new chapter in our musical journey. The evolution of our sound is evident as it encapsulates years of growth. The album boasts dynamic fast beats, captivating vocal melodies, and intricate guitar lines across 12 compelling songs. These tracks delve into themes of empowerment, responsibility, and connection, reflecting our evolution as both artists and individuals.

When did you realise that your project had the potential to be much more than just a fun idea?
When we signed with Gun Records – a division of Sony BMG Germany.

Tell us about your latest release, why should we check it out?
Our style can be described as alternative metal with a unique blend of influences from punk, pop, and classical music. We focus on creating powerful and meaningful music with catchy melodies and emotive lyrics.

How does a song typically come together for you?
Our creative process is a vibrant collaboration. It usually commences with a musical spark or a resonating theme. From there, we nurture the idea, experimenting with diverse sounds and arrangements until the song takes its final form. Be it a riff or a vocal melody, we shape the song’s structure in our rehearsal room or personal studio.

How would you describe your sound to an unfamiliar reader?
Unconventional, Energetic, empowering, and melodically engaging.

What do you want listeners to take away from listening to your band?
We hope that listeners can take away the strength behind our music, understanding that although we may fall, the most important thing is to rise again. We also hope they can retain our melody, which is always a vital part of our music.

Where would you really like to tour that you haven’t done so yet, and why?
We would love to tour Australia because it is an amazing place where you can still experience nature and see animals roaming freely.

How would you say that the sound of your band has progressed over the years?
Our band’s sound has evolved considerably over the years. We’ve moved from a raw, intense sound to a more refined and complex musical style, incorporating diverse elements that have broadened the depth and richness of our music. This progression has allowed us to craft a more immersive and engaging experience for our listeners, reflecting the journey and growth of our musical identity

How excited are you for 2023, and what can fans expect from you?
We’re extremely excited about 2023! So far, it’s been a fantastic year for us. We’ve released a new album, secured a new booking contract for European shows, and seen our fan base steadily grow on Spotify and our social media platforms. Looking ahead, we’re gearing up to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our masterpiece record, ‘Unleashed,’ in 2024. We’re actively working on scheduling dates and planning all the promotional activities for this incredible celebration.
