ADRENALINE KINGS – interview
Introduce your band, and describe your latest release:
We’re the Adrenaline Kings from Vienna, Austria – our latest release is a hard-driving chugger entitled “The Grand Tour” that was inspired by the Gran Turismo video game.
What’s the hardest part about being a band in this day and age?
Finding venues and promoters willing to pay a decent fee to local bands, as well as audiences willing to check out local bands.
When did you realise that your project had the potential to be much more than just a fun idea?
Right from the moment the songs started coming together in my head.
Tell us about your latest release, why should we check it out?
Because it’s the perfect soundtrack to any car journey – and it rocks pretty hard too, if we do say so ourselves!
How does a song typically come together for you?
Well starts out with a good idea – a catchy riff or hookline, which has to come to you by divine inspiration. Once you have that you can either work on it immediately or put it in the vault for later. The rest is just sitting down and working out the details.
How would you describe your sound to an unfamiliar reader?
That’s pretty easy: 80s-style hard rock.
What do you want listeners to take away from listening to your band?
I want them to have a good time and get the songs stuck in their head.
Where would you really like to tour that you haven’t done so yet, and why?
South America looks amazing – every time I’ve seen concert footage from there it looks insane.
How would you say that the sound of your band has progressed over the years?
I would say barely at all, considering we still sound like the 1980s!
How excited are you for 2024, and what can fans expect from you?
We have a few things in the pipeline. Next up after “The Grand Tour” is a cover of a relatively well-known boy band song. We may have to come up with a choreography for the video!
