Eternal Terror is presenting you the mini video-documentary of Claymords’ release concert for their 2013 album, ‘Scum of the Earth’. The release took place at the beginning of May and it took the band members together with their sound guy, two pole dancers and photo/video crew all the way to the lovely frozen Svalbard.
Since Longyearbyen is not quite the place where you’d be able to hang posters to promote your show many weeks in advance, the first day was spent going around the city and handing out invitations to the those we encountered on the way. Everything was received with a big dose of enthusiasm, no matter the age or gender, since such events are really scarce in that part of the world.
Saturday was fully dedicated to stage and poles building, backdrop painting, testing and soundchecking, warming up and eventually culmanting with a heart warming performance that filled the Svalbar bar. The band was loudly demanded to play some more and they went few songs over the initial playlist, to the joy of those present. We must also mention the loud ovations received by the talented pole dancers from Bergenpole club, as they must have been the local heroes for that evening.
This was one of the most genuine live exepriences ever and Svalbard is definitely a place to return to, whether or not there’s a musical event in the middle of that beautiful wilderness.
