"A Prelude Into Emptiness" was an incredibly bombastic overblown piece of progressive metal that sounded as uninspired as it was truly uncatchy. Somehow, some way, the band managed to create a longer album, more bombastic and more overblown album but upped the ante in terms of uncatchiness. Read: not a single track retained by my brain as I longingly gazed at the display of my poor iPod who did not deserve this cruel and unusual fate, ol’ buddy ol’ pal. But the cleansing will commence soon, my friend. It is as if Chronos Zero figured out which parts (female vocals deathy and clean, boring djent neoclassical non-riffs) were dragging the material the most and simply did more of it, much more. From mediocre to horrible, but the album title fits the music just as snuggly as the debut. Stay away. To turn a phrase on the old UB40 lyric from "Can’t Help Falling in Love", something’s are NOT meant to be.
