The legendary act Accept is not only a vital and strong presence in the metal scene still, but also a most potent and energetic machine on stage. "Restless and Live – Blind Rage – Live in Europe 2015" (quite the mouthful, eh?) is proof that Accept is more than capable of unleashing hell on stage and making sure their fans leave the gigs with sore necks and sweaty palms. The thing is that many of the band’s tunes work incredibly well in a live setting, so pretty much every cut on this double album sounds good if not excellent.
The fat and beefy sound of the album is to be treasured and the band is incredibly tight, so no compaints there whatsoever. One could argue that some of the live renditions of the classics and so on add very little to the songs themselves in that the studio counterparts were already quite intense and heavy to begin with, but then on the other hand, it rules to have this mixture of old, new, and everything in between gathered on one release. In many ways, "Restless and Live" chronicles Accept’s career nicely and offers a great overview of some of their strongest material, both old and new. Like I said, the band is tight, which is really just another way of saying that these guys slay on stage and know exactly what is needed to whip the crowd into a frenzy. Two of the highlights are actually "Pandemic" and "The Curse" – there is just something special about those two cuts that rule, almost as if the band and the audience become one and the music reaches a higher level somehow.
In summing up, it is impossible not to love this 27-track marathon of kick-ass heavy metal performed by the Teutonic masters of the genre. A highly entertaining release for sure!
