DAWN OF VALOR – Tribulations of War

Admiration exists for musicians who forge paths that may lurk in the shadows in terms of stateside reverence. Minnesota’s Dawn of Valor in their seven year existence have recorded two previous EP’s prior to their debut album Tribulations of War. One foot firmly in the traditional metal style, another in an old school power platform, these 7 songs are quick hitting, triplet-filled galloping affairs packed with tales of "Warlords", "Comrades in Arms", seeking out a "Darker Embrace". Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, and Omen come up as far as influences, great guitar harmonies and prominent, fluid bass action keep me entertained for the almost 30 minute running time. Surprised some European label like Killer Metal or Pure Steel hasn’t called out to them for a deal.
