FRANZ FERDINAND – Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action

The UK indie/ pop/ alternative band Franz Ferdinand return for their fourth studio album "Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action". Still as quirky as all get up, "Love Illumination" and the punk meets R.E.M. energy of "Bullet" prove the four-piece are not a one hit wonder (despite what the pop world may think with the single from their debut album "Take Me Out"). "Treason! Animals" gains credibility with a synth outlook a la Devo while the guitars and vocals match with 80’s indie/pop strains.
10 songs and 35 minutes of music for those who like indie pop rock with some left field post punk/ dance hall ethics. Franz Ferdinand is one of the better bands in this genre, and this is another worthwhile listen for those into this style. When I need a break from metal, "Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action" fills the void more than adequately.
