More worship of American industrial power groove metal on this fourth album "Poseidon" by French metal band Dagoba. Expect distorted vocals, triggered drum action and this overflow of Fear Factory, Pantera and Machine Head riff/ songwriting philosophy. The previous album "Face The Colossus" had much better arrangements that didn’t merely feed off pit moving riffs or pure aggression for aggressions sake.
Enjoyable in small doses like the shape shifting Meshuggah changes within “The Devil’s Triangle” or slightly keyboard atmospheric “There’s Blood Offshore” , Dagoba need to decide if they want to achieve their own sound or remain a middle of the road replication of their influences.
