Introduce your band, and describe your latest release:
VENUS FLY TRAP, ALEX NOVAK-VOX and ANDY DENTON-GUITAR/PROGRAMMING…the new album will be released in july called DEJA VU 1986-2026 a recollection/rarities on GLASS MODERN celebrating 40 years with this compilation and tracks that only appeared on compilations.
What’s the hardest part about being a band in this day and age?
I guess making a living hence we both do other things i run a record shop SPIRAL ARCHIVE/DJ/PROMOTE and ANDY is a GRAPHIC DESIGNER.
When did you realise that your project had the potential to be much more than just a fun idea?
Well i have been involved in various bands before VENUS FLY TRAP which had there moments but fell apart for various reasons but the main one was that i persevered and carried on when others would have packed it in.

Tell us about your latest release, why should we check it out?
DEJA VU as mentioned before is a collection of tracks from our 40 year tenure so a good place to start to discover our other releases.
How does a song typically come together for you?
Since we have been using electronics more we tend to come up with some ideas that are taken away and a basic track is worked on going back and forth until were happy with the final mix.
How would you describe your sound to an unfamiliar reader?
Bladerunner rock n roll nixed with acidic cinematic visions…film noir for the mind taking in joy division/chemical brothers-post punk/electronica.
What do you want listeners to take away from listening to your band?
Triggered images and ideas in their imaginations…
Where would you really like to tour that you haven’t done so yet, and why?
We have done many tours including belgium/germany/france/holland/italy/poland/czech republic…etc…one place we would like to get to is japan…
How would you say that the sound of your band has progressed over the years?
Well as members come and go they bring there own nuances so the sound has been in constant flux but certainly more electronic now then we used to be.
How excited are you for 2026, and what can fans expect from you?
Plenty of exposure in the press we are planning gigs for later in the year but have a special gig in northampton celebrating 40 years since our vey first gig in 1986.
