VALHALLA AWAITS – Perdition

Hard, heavy, and crunchy-sounding rock with an abundance of passion and vigor to it is what you get on the upcoming album titled Perdition by the awe-inspiring British outfit named Valhalla Awaits, and the undeniable fact is that it sounds amazing and that the band a whole is really firing on all cylinders here. Now that we have established that these gentlemen sound better than ever, let us briefly summarize why this earth-shattering EP is essential. For one thing, it strikes a near-perfect balance between the gritty and the emotive, and they sure know how to write cohesive tunes with a great flow to them. There is groove and soul to every song on the disc, and although you could draw a comparison to Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and perhaps even Slave to the System in a few places, this musically interesting outfit definitely boasts an identity of its own and has a lot to offer the listener. Every track hits the sweet spot in terms of infectious melodies, muscular riffs, and heartfelt yearning, but the epic ‘Is There Anybody Out There’ is definitely something out of the ordinary and genius songwriting incarnate. Incredibly cool stuff.
