MISANTHROPIC WAR – Utter Human Annihilation

MISANTHROPIC WAR – Utter Human Annihilation

By Odin, this is fucking intense and hateful stuff. Misanthropic War’s take on black/death metal is of the most violent and destructive kind, and listening to Utter Human Annihilation and its thirteen hyper-aggressive tracks is akin to having one’s face torn right off. Everything is there in the title of the album, the song lyrics, the artwork, and the very name of the band itself – essentially global death, no exceptions. In many ways, the record veers towards those sick and unholy sounds that emanate from the outputs of Conqueror, Revenge, and Wargrinder only that I find Misanthropic War’s tunes a little more musically rewarding and coherent to listen to in the overall perspective. The break-neck barrage of assaulting drums, hellish riffs, and pitch-black vocals actually complement each other throughout and the cursed thing is not as completely unhinged or indecipherable as one might think. Having said that, this is the kind of thing that my mood rarely calls for, and although cuts such as ‘Pro War’ and ‘Siege and Incinerate’ are solid compositions, its explosive content neither rouses me nor does it stir my blood. Still, there are some valid and wicked ideas present on the disc and it certainly has its moments.

If harrowing fears of a nuclear apocalypse torment you and keep you up at night, this album is most definitely not for you as these twisted maniacs welcome that and revel in the thought of humankind being laid to waste. . . and they have got the songs to prove it. War metal at its ugliest!
