BAD RAIN – Room to Breathe

The German/British outfit Bad Rain turned out to be a mighty fine surprise and a most welcome listen to these ears in that this skilled constellation of musicians dabbles in melodically strong and potent hard rock that sounds current while simultaneously paying respect to some of the greatest bands of old. The vocals are superb and contain passion and grit in equal measure, and they sound gorgeous on top of those big, crunchy riffs and that loud, blood-pumping rhythm section. These dudes pretty much nail it and there is a lot to love and cherish about Room to Breathe not least because its five compositions are so irresistibly catchy that one is left with no choice but to crank the fist-pumping gem up loud. There is this warm, vintage-like vibe to the otherwise modern-sounding affair, which is lovely, and Bad Rain pull things off with style and in a confident, focused manner. I am really digging these tracks and the variety and emotional pull of the material. You should check this out if groovy hard rock turns you on.
